Milan design week exhibit: Nendo 50 chairs imagination captures the comic

Manga consists of numerous segments, is a very flat and abstract expression. Comics rooted in Japan's traditional culture, its origins dating back to the Edo period (1603-1868) of the ukiyoe. This installation art – 50 comics cartoon Chair from Nendo has strong symbolic meaning into furniture design. Each page of the comic are decorated with lattices of different sizes, combined in a certain order form. Similarly, 50 chairs with comic elements are positioned on a grid, quietly telling the story behind each. "Speech bubbles" and "line of effect" are the visualization of sound and movement. Cartoon emotion symbols, such as "sweat" or "cry" was also incorporated into the design, giving cold Chair feelings and personality. In order to deliver comic abstraction features, design of the Chair isn't in any color or material information, instead of using a mirror. Another appeared in the mirror the "real" world, just like a comic book.
